You can tell a lot from an image. You can see emotions, sense feelings, and almost experience what it was like to be in the place and time when the image was created. For example, looking through Meggan & Jimi’s McConnell’s Mill Engagement Session you can see just how much love, laughter, and chemistry is shared between Meggan & Jimi. You can see seriousness, silliness, and special moments shared between the two. As a photographer it is a total privilege to be a part of capturing and sharing these moments with a couple.
On the other hand, there are some things you can’t see. In this instance, you can’t see just how COLD it was during our shoot! Everyone knows that the weather anywhere around Pittsburgh in mid-March is a roll of the dice at best. However, as we moved toward’s Meggan & Jimi’s Engagement shoot it looked like we might luck out as the weather was calling for mid-40’s to low 50’s leading up to the session. However, as Pittsburgh weather often does, things changed. On the morning of our shoot we had a balmy high of 20 degrees to work with… along a fast moving river and waterfall… in the forest… with a nice breeze… Yeah, it was cold! But that’s what made this session all the more awesome. Despite the frigid temperatures, Meggan & Jimi warmed it up. Their chemistry, connection, and love kept the session loose and care free. Even though all of us were frozen to the core by the end of the session it was still a blast. It was a pleasure being a part of capturing memories that we can look back warmly on despite the cold we’ll remember from that day!
